The Hospitality Management Internship Program is designed for International students, young graduates or professionals that want to acquire Canadian skills and knowledge in the hospitality industry. The world of Hospitality is a fast growing industry full of exciting opportunities for graduates of this Diploma program. The hospitality industry is British Columbia’s number one employer and the projected growth to 2011 is an anticipated 34,000 additional jobs.
Graduates in the Hospitality Management Work Experience Diploma Program will study at BC's premier west coast accredited private training career college MTI. And will receive certification from the prestigious Educational Institute of American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA). In addition, you will also undergo a 24 weeks work experience in a hospitality setting to enhance your training. Depending on the availability, the work experience may be a paid co-op or an unpaid practicum. |

| Co-op Work Experience: |
A co-op placement is provided by sponsor. While the student attends the classes for the academic component of this program, sponsor provides her / him with an orientation session, an initial consultation, a placement search, an interview preparation, an interview arrangement, as well as an ongoing follow-up throughout the work experience component of the program.
After successfully completing the educational component, the student will earn $8 to $12 per hour and will be paid every two weeks in most cases. |
